American Heart Heartsaver Classes

Intended audience

This class is for anyone who wants to take a fun and informative Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) class.  This includes expecting parents, relatives of someone with a heart condition, and anyone who enjoys learning with a live instructor rather than just a video.  This class is not intended for someone who needs a certification card.

Description

This is a basic CPR class for non medical people.  CPR training includes the first steps you need to take when you find an unresponsive victim (no breathing, no heartbeat).  The language used in the video and written materials is simple and easy to understand.  Participants practice CPR skills using training manikins while watching the video with assistance from the instructor.  This is a low stress class in a relaxed environment.  The goal is for the student to feel comfortable with the information, not perfection of skills.

Student materials:  Family & Friends CPR stock # 80-1518.  This book is included in price of class.

Instructor to student ratio:   This will vary according to group size.

Class fee:  Group rate starts at $40.00 per person for minimum of six people.

Approximate length of class 2 hours

There is no skills test or written test.  Students receive a course participation card.
