Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers classes and BLS Renewal classes are both available through eLearning. Participants complete the video portion and written test online. This part of the class is self-paced. Participants will print out a completion certificate which is verified by the instructor in advance of skills testing component.
The skills practice and skills testing are completed with the instructor. This is not a traditional class, so not all participants are with the instructor at the same time.

Approximate class length: 1 ½ hours Certification is good for two years.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and
proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional
materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational
course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart
Association, and any fees charges for such a course do not represent
income to the Association.
